Adsorption of Methyl Orange on a Novel Palygorskite/UiO-66 Nanocomposite

Herein, a novel composite material containing UiO-66 and palygorskite (Pal) clay mineral was prepared using facile one-pot synthesis process. The studied variety of techniques applied as did not affect the structure metal-organic framework (MOF) part, but induced small increase in specific surface area. developed Pal/UiO-66 presented excellent adsorption efficiency against MO removal, evidenced by detailed kinetic isotherm experiments. An impressive maximum capacity at equilibrium evidenced; 340 mg g?1 pH = 5 T 25 °C. This corresponds to 34.5 % compared with pure UiO-66, considering only MOF content. Furthermore, proven stable highly recyclable, losing less than 9% removal after five consecutive cycles. study highlights synergistic effect coupling structures low-cost abundant minerals for development advanced absorbents.
